Strong, thriving neighborhoods provide the resources and relationships for every person to reach their full potential. They are a mixture of physical infrastructure, civic infrastructure, and social infrastructure– which while each unique, work to support and reinforce one another.

However, measuring the strength of a neighborhood can be complex as there are so many factors to capture. Further, in-depth surveys and detailed quantitative analyses take time and resources that many neighborhood organizations do not have.

Below is the Strong Neighborhood Scorecard, a new tool for neighborhood leaders to show their success using a simple, practical tool. Built on the Vital Conditions Framework and Asset-Based Community Development, this resource measures progress along the 5 components of strong neighborhoods.
