Christian Schock
Christian Schock is proud to contribute to the CommunityWorks mission. Mr. Schock retired as Director of Planning, Community and Economic Development for the City of Wausau, Wisconsin and the Wausau Community Development Authority which manages over 200 units of public housing in 2020. Prior to that he served as Executive Director of the Clinton County, Ohio Regional Planning Commission and won the 2013 National Planning Achievement Award in Economic Development from the American Planning Association for that work. He also held planning, regulatory and project management roles with the Los Angeles Housing Department, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, and remains an expert consultant to US FEMA.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio; he holds a Master of Science in Development Economics/Management from the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom along with Bachelor and Master degrees in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Cincinnati, where he served as University Student Body President.
Mr. Schock’s professional experience has involved every level of public administration: local, county, regional, state, federal, and international through many facets of the development process including planner, designer, regulator, manager, consultant and economic developer.
