Rolunda begun her journey toward becoming a passionate advocate for community unity at home, inspired by her children. Watching them grow up in a neighborhood that felt disconnected, she realized the importance of fostering a sense of belonging and togetherness. Her kids often asked why their friends from school, who lived just a few streets away, rarely participated in shared activities. This sparked Rolunda’s desire to create opportunities for families from all backgrounds to connect. Driven by her children’s curiosity and hope for a more inclusive environment, she joined Community Connectors, a local initiative aimed at bridging gaps between neighborhoods. Through her work, she aims to create the kind of community her kids—and others—can thrive in, where collaboration and mutual support are the foundation of everyday life.
